Fleming Island, FL (July 20, 2020) – This afternoon, numerous responders were dispatched to the scene of a car crash at a Fleming Island intersection.

The accident, according to authorities, took place around 1:40 p.m. when two vehicles forcefully collided for unknown reasons at the intersection of US-17 and Pace Island Trace. The crash led to serious damages to the vehicles involved.

Law enforcement officials, fire crews, and paramedics were present at the scene of the accident where they assisted one or more victims with injuries. The injured parties were hospitalized, though the extent of their injuries is not yet known.

The left and center lanes of traffic were blocked for a period of time following the collision until police were able to clear the scene. This led to delays in the area around the intersection for a period of time.

No further details have been released but the investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues.
