Green Cove Springs, FL (May 11, 2020) – This afternoon around 1:20 p.m., authorities responded to a serious car accident on a major highway in Green Cove Springs.

Few details have been released concerning the accident but it is believed that it took place in the northbound lanes of US-17 near the area of Fraser Road.

Due to the severity of the accident and the vehicles involved blocking the turn lane, the roadway was blocked in the area for a period of time.

Paramedics and numerous other emergency responders were present at the scene assisting those with injuries. At this time, the extent of the injuries is not yet known.

Police continue their investigation into the accident.
