Jacksonville, FL (July 19, 2020) – Last evening, a man was killed in a fatal rollover accident that took place on a highway in Jacksonville.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the accident took place when a Ford pickup truck was traveling northbound on I-295 around the area of 103^rd Street. A Toyota Sedan was headed in the same direction but in a different lane while a Nissan pickup truck was in yet another lane traveling in the same direction.

The Ford pickup truck switched lanes and, for reasons that are not yet known, the pickup truck and the Toyota collided. This caused the driver of the Ford to lose control, which caused an accident between the truck and the Nissan. Police confirmed that both the Ford and Nissan veered off the side of the road and overturned in a ditch.

The driver of the Ford was identified as a 54-year-old man from Jacksonville, who tragically passed away at the scene.

The driver of the Nissan was identified as a 38-year-old woman from Jacksonville and the driver of the Toyota was identified as a 21-year-old man from Jacksonville. They both suffered from minor injuries.

All northbound lanes of the highway were closed down in the area for several hours as police worked on clearing the scene. Their investigation continues.
