Jacksonville, FL – School Bus Accident with Injuries on I-95

Jacksonville, FL (March 12, 2020) – This morning around 8:30 a.m., police confirmed that a school bus accident took place on I-95 in Jacksonville.

The accident occurred when two vehicles collided on the highway near the area of J. Turner Butler Boulevard, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Police confirmed that a Mercedes Benz was traveling south in the center travel lane when the vehicle suddenly switched lanes, which caused it to swipe the side of a school bus. The school bus was hit so forcefully that the accident caused it to run off the left side of the interstate where it crashed through a guardrail.

Police confirmed that there were no children on the bus at the time. However, the school bus driver and the driver of the Mercedes were both hospitalized for their injuries.

Lanes were closed down until 10:15 a.m. Police continue their investigation into the accident at this time.

Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families in hopes of a full recovery.
