St. Augustine Shores, FL – Fatal Apartment Fire on Prestwick Place
St. Augustine Shores, FL (April 29, 2020) – Around 7 a.m. this morning, the state fire marshal confirmed that one life was taken in a fatal apartment fire in St. Augustine Shores.
The incident, according to fire crews and police, took place at a complex on Prestwick Place in St. Augustine Shores in the early morning hours. St. Johns County Fire Rescue confirmed that they are not sure what initially led to the fire.
Crews fought the fire and walked through the building, where they discovered a victim’s body. None of the firefighters were injured while fighting the flames.
The fire was contained to only one unit. No information has been released concerning the victim killed in the fire.
At this time, the investigation continues.
