Jacksonville Beach, FL – DUI Accident at First St Restaurant
Jacksonville Beach, FL (December 10, 2019) – On Sunday night, December 8, a serious DUI accident took place at a restaurant on First Street that left several parties with injuries.
The accident took place around 11 p.m. when 45-year-old William Halford was trying to back a friend’s golf cart out of a parking space but accidentally propelled the vehicle forward. Allegedly, the man thought that he was in reverse.
There were multiple people inside the Mango’s Beach Bar restaurant and three were injured due to the collision. One received the worst of the injuries and was pinned between the golf cart and the bar. The other two victims still have pain due to the accident but are expected to be okay.
Officers immediately noticed that Halford was intoxicated due to the accident, as he had slurred speech and was swaying when he was talking to them. He was charged with DUI and property damage with personal injury.
The accident remains under investigation at this time.
Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families in hopes of a full recovery.
