Jacksonville, FL (June 6, 2020) – Early in the morning on June 4, police responded to a multi-vehicle accident that took place on a major Jacksonville highway.
According to authorities, the accident took place around the time of rush hour at 6 a.m. Multiple vehicles collided for undisclosed reasons in the northbound lanes of I-295 around the area of Duval Road.
Multiple emergency responders were dispatched to the scene of the accident including fire crews, paramedics, and more. EMS crews helped one or more victims with their injuries, though the extent of these injuries is not yet known.
Police believe that adverse weather conditions, including lack of visibility and wet roads, may have also contributed to the accident.
Right lanes of traffic were blocked, causing extensive delays in the area for some time.
The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues.
