Jacksonville, FL (December 18, 2019) – Around 5:30 p.m. last evening, December 17, Jacksonville Police responded to the scene of a car accident on I-95.

According to authorities, the accident took place when two or more vehicles collided forcefully with one another in the southbound lanes of the highway. The vehicles involved were badly damaged.

Police have confirmed that one person was trapped in their vehicle following the collision. The party was extricated by fire crews and treated for their injuries. It is not known if the party was hospitalized or not.

There were extensive delays due to the accident. The exit ramp in the area was blocked for a short period of time.

The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
