Jacksonville, FL – Fatal Tractor-Trailer Accident on I-295
Jacksonville, FL (February 26, 2020) – Around 1 p.m. yesterday, February 25, one person lost their life in a fatal tractor-trailer accident on I-295 in Jacksonville.
Police confirmed that the victim was 30-year-old Ashley Galan, who was driving a 2015 Nissan Altima north on I-295 near the area of Duval Road at the time.
The Florida Highway Patrol confirmed that a truck slowed down due to an abrupt stop caused by traffic congestion. Galan’s vehicle collided with the truck, becoming trapped underneath it.
Galan was pronounced dead at the scene of the collision.
The investigation into the accident is currently ongoing.
