Jacksonville, FL (December 29, 2019) – Yesterday afternoon, December 28, police responded to the scene of a two-vehicle accident on Blanding Boulevard that led to injuries.
The Florida Highway Patrol determined that a Chevrolet Silverado was being driven by a 19-year-old man traveling south on Blanding when he suddenly crossed the double yellow line. This caused him to collide head-on with an Acura.
The Silverado allegedly rolled over, which caused the driver to be ejected. The 69-year-old driver of the Acura was trapped in her vehicle and had to be extricated by fire crews.
Police confirmed that the driver of the Silverado sustained serious injuries and his 20-year-old male passenger obtained minor injuries.
The driver of the Acura and her 49-year-old female passenger both sustained serious injuries.
Charges are pending and FHP continues to investigate at this time.
