Jacksonville, FL – Child Struck in Pedestrian Accident at Hillman Dr

Jacksonville, FL (March 21, 2020) – According to police, a child was struck in a serious pedestrian accident at a Jacksonville intersection this afternoon.

According to police, the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department truck hit the child at the intersection of Hillman Drive and 103rd Street.

Surveillance videos were viewed showing a young girl walking on the sidewalk with two friends. The girls got scared when a dog started chasing after them, which is when the victim quickly crossed the street.

The truck struck the girl but it allegedly did not have its sirens on at the time.

The girl was identified only as an 8-year-old who remains in the hospital at this time. Her condition is not known.

Police continue their investigation into the accident.

Our thoughts are with the injured victim and their family in hopes of a full recovery.
