Elkton, FL – Man Killed in Fatal Truck Accident on I-95
Elkton, FL (July 3, 2020) – Around 3:30 a.m. this morning, a man was killed in a fatal truck accident that took place on I-95 in Elkton.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the collision took place when a sedan and semi-truck collided with one another in the early morning hours for reasons that are not yet known. The crash took place on I-95 in the area of FL-206.
Police have confirmed only that the accident was a rear-end collision that led to severe damages in both vehicles.
The driver of the sedan, identified only as a 26-year-old man from Tallahassee, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. The driver of the truck was identified as a 32-year-old man from Jacksonville who was not injured due to the accident.
The accident closed the northbound lanes of the highway in the area for approximately seven hours this morning, which led to immense delays.
No further details have been provided but the investigation is currently ongoing.
