Jacksonville, FL – Fatal Truck Accident on I-10 Involving Child
Jacksonville, FL (January 8, 2020) – On Wednesday night, January 7, a fatal truck accident on I-10 took the life of a 10-year-old boy in Jacksonville.
The crash allegedly took place when a tractor-trailer drove across the median of the highway, just east of Highway 301, when it flipped on its side and slid in front of a van carrying a family.
The Florida Highway Patrol said that 10-year-old Eli Warren and his mother Releia were headed west around 8 p.m. in the west lane of the highway. Troopers claim that a tractor-trailer entered into the grass median and overturned. It slid into a westbound lane and struck the Honda van.
Eli was tragically pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. His mother was trapped and had to be extricated by officials. She was flown to a local hospital with serious injuries.
The driver of the tractor-trailer was identified as Anthony Lumpkin who was charged for the accident.
The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
We would like to offer our deepest condolences to the family of the deceased victim at this time. Our thoughts are with the injured victim and their family in hopes of a full recovery.
