Jacksonville, FL (July 9, 2020) – Around 2:40 p.m. yesterday, July 8, a firetruck accident took place on I-95 near Emerson Street.

The truck, which belonged to Jacksonville Fire and Rescue, was involved in a collision with a passenger vehicle for reasons that are not yet known. The firetruck rolled over multiple times as a result of the collision.

Three people inside the firetruck were hospitalized with injuries including a lieutenant, engineer, and firefighter. One person inside the passenger vehicle was also hospitalized.

The roadway was closed down in that portion of the roadway until 5 p.m.

No further details have been released but the investigation continues.
