Jacksonville, FL (November 1, 2019) – On Monday morning around 7:20 a.m., a pedestrian accident injured one person at a local Jacksonville intersection.

Police were dispatched to the intersection of West Beaver Street and Jim Wright Road, where they discovered that a man was injured while walking near the roadway. The driver of a pickup truck spotted the pedestrian and attempted to maneuver around him but was unable to avoid hitting the man. The pickup truck struck the pedestrian on the right front side.

The impact was so forceful that it cracked the windshield of the pickup truck and knocked off a mirror. The truck was being operated by an adult driver and was occupied with a minor child as the passenger.  Neither people were injured.

Firefighters arrived minutes after the accident to assist the injured victim.

The male pedestrian was immediately hospitalized with serious injuries. His current condition is not known.

No other details have been released to the public at this time but the investigation into the accident is ongoing.
