Middleburg, FL (November 1, 2019) – This morning around 5:30 a.m., one individual was killed in a fatal pedestrian accident on County Road 218 in Middleburg.

The Florida Highway Patrol has been working on its investigation since early this morning.FHP worked the scene of the accident for several hours and eventually reopened the road at around 10 a.m.

Police claim that a Nissan 350Z was involved in the accident and struck a pedestrian for reasons that are still under investigation.

According to authorities, the pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. The victim has not yet been identified at this time.

All transportation for the Wilkinson Elementary School was canceled due to the closure of the roadway.

No other details have been released but the investigation of the accident is currently ongoing.
