Middleburg, FL (July 31, 2020) – Early this morning, authorities were dispatched to the scene of a hit-and-run crash that took place at an intersection in Middleburg.

According to authorities, the accident occurred around 9:41 a.m. this morning at the intersection of Blanding Boulevard and Palmetto Street when two vehicles collided with one another. Police confirmed that one of the vehicles involved in the collision immediately fled the scene of the accident, which happened around the area of the Clay Transmission parking lot.

Numerous emergency responders were dispatched to the scene of the collision. There, they discovered that one or more victims from the vehicle that remained at the scene were injured in the accident. The injured victims were immediately transported to the hospital for treatment.

The roadway was blocked in multiple lanes for a period of time but police were able to quickly reopen the roadway.

No further details have been released. The investigation continues at this time.
