Palatka, FL – Fatal Pedestrian Accident Involving Truck on FL-100
Palatka, FL (January 23, 2020) – Early this morning around 6 a.m., one person was killed following a fatal pedestrian accident involving a garbage truck on FL-100.
The Mack dump truck was headed south on FL-100 when it suddenly struck a 32-year-old man who was walking south alongside the road. Police confirmed that the pedestrian, who was from Palatka, tragically died at the scene of the collision.
The driver of the truck will not face any charges at this time. All southbound lanes were closed down for a period of time.
Florida Highway Patrol continues its investigation into the accident.
