Ponte Vedra Beach, FL – 1 Killed in Fatal Crash at Florida A1A Intersection
Ponte Vedra Beach, FL (February 18, 2020) – Around 7 p.m. last evening, February 17, one person was killed in a fatal crash at the intersection of Florida A1A and L’Atrium Drive.
Police confirmed that 74-year-old David Sparrow was driving his Toyota Prius south when he attempted to make a left turn onto L’Atrium. A northbound Lexus struck the passenger’s side of Sparrow’s vehicle, where 82-year-old Sarita May was sitting.
The Florida Highway Patrol confirmed that May died at the scene of the accident. Sparrow was hospitalized with serious injuries.
According to police, the Lexus overturned and struck a pole. Its driver was also hospitalized but with minor injuries.
Charges are pending and the investigation into the accident continues.
