Jacksonville, FL (April 23, 2020) – Around 2 p.m. this afternoon, a severe car accident with injuries took place on I-295 in Jacksonville.

The accident, according to police, took place in the southbound lanes of I-295 around the area of Old St. Augustine Road when multiple vehicles collided with one another.

The roadway was closed down for a short period of time in numerous lanes in the area. Emergency responders, including fire crews and paramedics, responded to the scene of the accident. They helped those with injuries, though their conditions are not yet known.

Police continue their investigation into the circumstances of the collision.
