Jacksonville, FL – Hit-and-Run Crash with Injuries on I-295

Jacksonville, FL (January 2, 2020) – Around 10:30 a.m. this morning, a multi-vehicle hit-and-run crash with injuries took place on I-295 in Jacksonville.

Police responded to the southbound lanes of the highway where they discovered that a hit-and-run driver struck one or more vehicles and then fled the scene.

All lanes of traffic were blocked in the area near Baymeadows Road for a short period of time until police cleared the scene.

Paramedics were present and assisted one or more victims with their injuries. However, the full extent of the injuries is not yet known.

At this time, the investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.

Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families in hopes of a full recovery.

Car Accidents in Florida

In 2016, it was reported that Florida experienced 206 hit-and-run accidents with at least one death and thousands of injuries. Hit-and-run accidents are especially serious due to the fact that a driver flees the scene without checking to ensure that victims are in need of medical attention. If you have been left with injuries due to the outright negligence of another party, it is especially imperative that you speak with a Florida car accident attorney in your time of need.
