Ocala, FL (April 8, 2020) – One civilian was injured and two police officers also received injuries in a serious car accident on FL-93, approximately an hour and a half away from Jacksonville.

The accident took place around 9:32 p.m. on Monday night, April 6. The Florida Highway Patrol and other Marion County officials assisted at the scene of the collision.

Police confirmed that a 39-year-old man from North Dakota, later identified as Feston Sengaidzojasi, was driving his 2002 Alero when he veered to the left and entered into an emergency lane. His vehicle struck the rear end of a police cruiser.

Police confirmed that Sengaidzojasi was injured in the accident. He was taken to Ocala Regional Hospital in critical condition and it was confirmed that he had been driving drunk at the time.

The two troopers inside the cruiser suffered from injuries and were taken to West Marion Hospital. They are expected to recover.

Both vehicles were destroyed and had to be removed from the scene. Police continue their investigation into the collision.
