Jacksonville, FL (February 27, 2020) – Around 1:15 p.m. yesterday afternoon, February 26, two people were killed in a fatal collision on Buckman Bridge in Jacksonville.
The Florida Highway Patrol confirmed that all southbound lanes of the highway were closed down for almost three hours but were reopened by 4 p.m. after the accident.
The crash took place between a Toyota Prius and a Ford F-150. The Prius was stopped in the right lane of the highway having mechanical issues when the Ford rear-ended it. They both caught on fire.
There were two people in the Prius who lost their lives at the scene of the accident. The driver of the pickup truck, a 41-year-old man, was taken to the hospital with injuries but is expected to be okay.
Charges are pending and the investigation continues.
