Jacksonville, FL – Fatal Accident Involving Pedestrian on US-1
Jacksonville, FL (January 3, 2020) – This afternoon, one person died in a fatal accident involving a pedestrian on US-1 in Jacksonville when a vehicle overturned.
Police did not comment on the exact circumstances of the collision but said that an SUV overturned on the roadway, causing a victim to be thrown from the vehicle. The person was allegedly struck by a passing vehicle.
The victim was lying in the middle of the southbound lanes when they were struck. Police claim that they were pronounced dead at the scene of the collision.
Four hours after the collision, police finally reopened all lanes of the road. They continue to investigate the accident.
