Jacksonville, FL – Fatal Pedestrian Accident at Southside Blvd

Jacksonville, FL (January 3, 2020) – Last afternoon around 2 p.m., police responded to the scene of a fatal pedestrian accident at Southside Boulevard and Gate Parkway in Jacksonville.

According to police, the collision took place at the intersection when a 64-year-old woman was struck and killed by a pickup truck. The Florida Highway Patrol responded.

The pedestrian was identified as Carrie Bier, who was crossing in the crosswalk when she was struck by the pickup truck. She was tragically pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

The 49-year-old driver of the truck stayed at the scene of the accident.

No charges have been filed but police continue their investigation.
