Jacksonville, FL – Hit-and-Run Accident in NB Lanes of I-295
Jacksonville, FL (July 20, 2020) – Around 1 p.m. this afternoon, numerous responders were dispatched to the scene of a hit-and-run accident in Jacksonville.
The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene immediately, which took place between two vehicles in the northbound lanes of I-295 around the Blanding Boulevard area. One of the vehicles involved in the accident immediately fled the scene after impact, leaving the second vehicle behind.
Injuries were reported in one or more victims in the vehicle that remained at the scene. Fire crews and paramedics were present at the scene to assist those with injuries, though their conditions are not yet known.
The northbound lanes of traffic were quickly cleared. Police did not confirm if they were able to catch up with the party responsible for the collision.
No further details have been provided. The investigation is currently ongoing.
