Ocala, FL (July 19, 2020) – This afternoon, police were dispatched to the scene of a hit-and-run accident that occurred on a roadway in Ocala.

The accident took place around 12 p.m. when one vehicle was struck by another on Northwest Blitchton Rd around the I-75 area. One of the vehicles immediately fled the scene of the collision. It is not known if police were able to find the responsible party.

The vehicle that remained at the scene of the accident was badly damaged due to the collision. Injuries were reported in one or more victims. Police confirmed that the injured parties were taken to the hospital to be treated for their injuries.

Police confirmed that the roadway was blocked for a period of time while they cleared the scene.

The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues at this time.
