Yulee, FL – 2 People Killed in Fatal Collision on US-17
Yulee, FL (February 8, 2020) – Around 12:40 a.m. this morning, two people were killed in a fatal collision on US-17 in Yulee involving one vehicle.
There were four people inside an SUV when the driver suddenly swerved to avoid a deer in the roadway. The vehicle then slammed into a tree.
The Florida Highway Patrol confirmed that a 19-year-old driver from Fernandina Beach was headed south when he swerved. Two passengers inside the vehicle, identified as a 19-year-old and 20-year-old, died at the scene of the collision.
The driver and another 19-year-old passenger were transported to UF Health Jacksonville with injuries.
At this time, the investigation into the collision is ongoing.
