Jacksonville, FL – Child Injured in Car Crash on Buckman Bridge
Jacksonville, FL (November 2, 2019) – According to authorities, a seven-year-old child was injured in a serious car crash that took place on the Buckman Bridge in Jacksonville.
The accident took place at night and caused both the center and left lanes of the bridge to be shut down for several hours. A seven-year-old child was taken to the hospital in critical condition following the accident.
Police claim that a 34-year-old man was headed south in the outside lane. A Honda was disabled and parked on the side of the road with its emergency flashers on. The 34-year-old driver was unable to avoid the Honda, crashing into the disabled car that was full of people. Two individuals in the Honda, including the child, were hospitalized with injuries.
The driver of the other vehicle was also taken to the hospital but is now facing charges of careless driving.
Florida Highway Patrol continues an investigation at this time.
