Jacksonville, FL (June 18, 2020) – Early this morning, police in Jacksonville were dispatched to the scene of a hit-and-run accident.

The accident, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, took place around 9:11 a.m. in the westbound lanes of I-10. The crash took place near the area of McDuff Avenue when a vehicle struck a second vehicle and then fled the scene. Police did not confirm if they caught up with the driver responsible for the accident.

Numerous emergency responders were dispatched to the scene of the accident. Paramedics assisted those with injuries.

The roadway was quickly reopened by police following the collision.

The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
