Lake City, FL (July 22, 2020) – This afternoon, a hit-and-run crash with injuries occurred at an intersection in Lake City.

The accident, according to authorities, took place around 3:47 p.m. when two vehicles collided with one another at the intersection of CR-240 and Ichetucknee Avenue. One of the vehicles immediately fled the scene of the accident without stopping.

Numerous emergency responders, including fire crews and paramedics, were present at the scene of the accident. EMS crews assisted those with injuries, though the extent of their injuries is not yet known. It is believed that one or more victims in the vehicle that remained at the scene were transported to the hospital.

The roadway was quickly reopened by police in the area.

No further details have been released. The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
