Jacksonville, FL (November 16, 2019) – Early this morning around 3 a.m., police responded to the scene of a car crash at the intersection of FL-5 and Emerson Street in Jacksonville.

Police claim that the accident took place when a pickup truck and a black sedan collided with one another at the intersection. Immediately following the collision, four rescue trucks, two ambulances, and the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office responded to the collision.

Two people were allegedly injured in the accident. Fire crews used the Jaws of Life to free a driver and passenger in the sedan. Both of the victims were hospitalized.

Police closed down all westbound lanes for some time following the collision. The investigation is currently ongoing.

Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families in hopes of a full recovery.
