Jacksonville, FL – Hit-and-Run Accident in NB Lanes of I-295
Jacksonville, FL (July 26, 2020) – This morning at 11:12 a.m., a hit-and-run accident took place on a major highway in Jacksonville.
According to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, the accident took place in the northbound lanes of I-295 when multiple vehicles collided with each other around the area of Normandy Boulevard. The accident led to extensive damages.
Police confirmed that one of the vehicles fled the scene of the accident immediately after it took place. It is not known if police were able to track down the driver.
Paramedics were present at the scene of the collision to assist those with injuries. The extent of the injuries is not yet known but it is believed that one or more victims were hospitalized.
The roadway was quickly reopened by the police.
The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues.
